Ocean Diver:

You will learn to dive on this entry level course. Max depth 20m.

 

Sports Diver:

Depth can be built progressively to a maximum of 35m after qualifying. Sports Divers can embark on the first stage of the route of instruction.

 

Dive Leader:

Dive Leader training covers responsibilities and safety of leading other divers. Depth can be built progressively to a maximum of 50m after qualifying. Dive Leaders are eligible to progress to Open Water Instructor.

 

Advanced Diver:

Divers gain experience in planning dives at different sites and different circumstances. Additional experience will be gained in using small boats, chartwork. navigation and many other related skills. Advanced Divers are eligible to progress to Advanced Instructor.

 

First Class Diver:

BSAC's highest diving grade which requires a higher than average level of theoretical knowledge, organisational and personal diving skills.

New ocean diver trainees:

(no previous qualification)

£285 - this includes:-

First year of BSAC registration.

Training pack

Cost of training materials

Cost of pool hire

Use of club dive equipment including maintenance costs

Free hire of club cylinders with free air fills

Use of club RIB including maintenance costs (excluding fuel costs)

Subscription to BSAC monthly magazine

BSAC liability insurance

 

Existing BSAC qualification:

£55.50 for first year of BSAC registration + cost of training pack (if wishing further training/qualifications)

and £15 per month by standing order (£20 per month if two members live in same household), which includes the following benefits -

Free air fills

Equipment maintenance costs

Use of club RIB including maintenance costs (excluding fuel costs)

Subscription to BSAC monthly magazine

BSAC liability insurance

 

Other dive Agency qualification:

(no further training required)

£55.50 for first year of BSAC registration.

and £15 per month by standing order (£20 per month if two members live in same household), which includes the following benefits -

Free air fills

Equipment maintenance costs

Use of club RIB including maintenance costs (excluding fuel costs)

Subscription to BSAC monthly magazine

BSAC liability insurance

 

Other dive Agency qualification:

(further training required)

£100.00 + cost of cross over training pack (this includes registration to BSAC)

and £15 per month by standing order (£20 per month if two members live in same household), which includes the following benefits -

Free air fills

Equipment maintenance costs

Use of club RIB including maintenance costs (excluding fuel costs)

Subscription to BSAC monthly magazine

BSAC liability insurance

 

So whats it like then?

The first time you breathe underwater is an experience to remember; and you will be surprised by just how much fun it is. the feeling of total weightlessness is awesome. Don't take our word for it come and give it a go!

 

 

So what happens on a Try Dive ?

A typical Try Dive session involves poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment, followed by a scuba dive in the local pool with BSAC-qualified instructors to make sure you get maximum enjoyment from your first scuba dive. A Try-Dive can help you save time and money by finding out in advance if you like diving.
